Baptism of the Fallen … And Those Taken Darkly

This work was done in fulfillment of a national sculpture competition. I wanted to make a work dedicated to South Africans who had resisted the apartheid regime. This moral and ethical crisis of South Africans eroded their material and spiritual aspirations resulting in a vacuum that is seldom filled. In order to establish an embracing narrative, I confluenced historical and mythological references.
